Reverend Walter D. Davis IV

 “The Lord is the Shepherd of His people

Reverend Walter Da’Mond Davis IV was born in Louisville, Kentucky; to Walter Davis III and Vicki Jackman. He received his early religious training as a young man at Third Street Christian Church. 

Reverend Davis was educated in the Jefferson County Public School System. After graduating from DuPont Manual High School and Youth Performing Art School in 1989, Reverend Davis entered Florida A & M University in Tallahassee, Florida on a full scholarship, where he ran track and played football. Even before the end of high school, Reverend Davis felt God’s call on his life. During his undergraduate career, it was clear to him God’s will was for him to be a Pastor and to lead the people of God! Reverend Davis attended Boyce College and Simmons Bible College in Louisville, Kentucky to prepare him for his journey.

In 1999, Reverend Davis joined the Fifth Street Baptist Church in Louisville, Kentucky, where Reverend Phillip Hodge is Pastor. February 2008, Reverend Davis enrolled at the Campbellsville University in Kentucky, to further his education in Theology. Reverend Davis has an Associate Degree in General Studies, a Bachelor of Science in Pastoral Ministries and a Master of Theology and is currently working on his Ph.D. of Education in Community Care and Counseling.  

In August 2003, Reverend Davis was extended the call to Pastor at Greater Gagel Christian Church in Louisville, Kentucky. In August 2007, Reverend Davis was called to Pastor Fourth Street Baptist Church in Owensboro, Kentucky. In July 2009 Pastor Walter Davis was asked if he would come to Greater First Timothy Missionary Baptist Church to continue the vision in which his uncle Dr. L.A. Ramsey started. March 5, 2011 Reverend Davis was called to Pastor First Baptist Church of Campbellsville in Campbellsville, Ky. On February 13, 2016 Reverend Davis was called to Pastor Monks Grove Baptist Church in Spartanburg, Sc.

Reverend Davis’s anointing and experience has made him gifted in such a way where he is able to reach new Christians and seasoned Christians with their spiritual journey. Reverend Davis is a gifted pastor and preacher. His exegetical integrity, homiletic skills, and hermeneutical sincerity has privileged him to preach throughout the United States.

Reverend Davis currently serves as a Chaplain for Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office, and he has served as the President of Ministers and Messengers Auxiliary for General Association of Baptists in Kentucky. He has served on the board of Church Relation Council for Campbellsville University. He is a member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity INC, Prince Hall Masonic Order, NAACP, and the Louisville Black Achievers.

Reverend Davis is married to the former Tara Nelson of Louisville, Kentucky and the proud father of four children. Tevin Davis, Ja’Lisa Bollor, Jayce Firman and Ja’Mia Nelson. 

Reverend Davis is known best for his quote “there can be no me without you, and there can be no you without me”.
